A family history since 1889.

It all began over one hundred and thirty years ago, when the founder Giovanni Mengotti opened his first business, a small shop in Bassano where he made and sold hats, umbrellas and other accessories for men. The business takes off and in the early 1900s the premises are expanded, expanding the turnover. From the outset, Mengotti's desire was to provide customers with beautiful products, made with high quality materials, combining fashion, functionality and above all the emotion that cannot be missing in an item of clothing or an accessory to wear. The care for quality and attention to the customer have always been the dominant features of this activity that keeps up with the times. The business continues to grow also thanks to the precious support of his son Giuseppe and his nephew Adriano who, already at the time, was making home deliveries on his bicycle, anticipating today's purchasing trends. Fundamental to the expansion of the Mengotti Group is the decision of Adriano Mengotti, currently head of the company, to follow in the family footsteps and after his studies he opened a shop a few steps from the headquarters, which has borne his name since 1963, dedicated to men's clothing. Since then the business has grown exponentially also with the support of his wife Renata who dedicated herself in the 80s to the opening of L'Elefantino, still today a Bassano icon of children's fashion, and of his son Filippo. In 2008 Mengotti landed in Bucharest with a luxury store, becoming a point of reference for an expanding local market.

The headquarters is located in a historic building in Bassano del Grappa, right above the shop where it all began. Mengotti is also present with various sales points of footwear, clothing, small leather goods and accessories also in Castelfranco Veneto, Thiene, Breganze and Valdagno. Adriano and his son Filippo are currently at the helm, the fourth generation of a family that has always considered fashion as an opportunity to express themselves through garments that represent the emotion of a tradition that has supported the best Made in Italy for 130 years .
